In America, we tend to approach the concept of “health” from a “disease” perspective. We think in terms of health “crises,” health “maladies” (“conditions,”) health “compromises,” etc… The reason we view health from this perspective is because we don’t typically think about our health until something goes wrong. Quite frequently, this is how we approach life as well.
How often do we place the time and effort into supporting the HEALTH of our personal relationships? How often do we choose to work beyond our job parameters (without being assigned the tasks by our managers) to support the HEALTH and growth of the companies that employ us? How often do we donate our time to our communities to create HEALTHIER social environments for our children by actively supporting and guiding their development?
NOW…
How often do we place the time and effort into supporting the HEALTH of our personal relationships when “divorce,” “separation,” or “break up” is threatened? How often do we choose to work beyond our job parameters to support the HEALTH and growth of the companies that employ us prior to our employers revealing the likeliness of job layoffs? How often do we get involved in our communities to support a HEALTHIER social environment for our children prior to the onset of crime and drugs infiltrating our neighborhoods and our lives?
.
WE ARE A REACTIVE SOCIETY

“Many people, especially ignorant people, want to punish you for speaking the truth, for being correct, for being you. Never apologize for being correct, or for being years ahead of your time. If you’re right and you know it, speak your mind. Speak your mind. Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is still the truth.”

Wise words from a wise man.
I am too stubborn to speak words of any other type. 🙂 The beauty in my messages is that they’re offered without ANYTHING expected in return. The only thing I have to gain from those willing to implement these ideas and concepts is the emotional satisfaction of knowing I contributed to making this planet a better world to live in. That is all I need to know to continue to follow my PURPOSE in life!

And you taught me that if only one person is helped, that is still emotional benefit. Thanks so much doc

This post gives me a perspective. No one wants to go that extra mile to look after the health of things that matter. Our expanse has narrowed which is sad.

I don’t expect any individual post to unveil the mystical secret revealing the “answer” to life’s health dilemmas. I would rather believe that the cumulative effect of my writing supplies enough pieces to life’s jigsaw puzzle to help the reader fill in the missing pieces with their own unique ideas. The best results consistently come when patients become empowered and take back CONTROL of their lives.

Oh I really enjoyed this Jonathan. I think a big factor contributing to all this is the general societal movement away from personal responsibility and self determination and towards being dependent and helpless. The growth of government nanny state and victimhood identity politics plays a large role, but so does a spiritual vacuum of constantly looking for the next “thing”that will satisfy.
I don’t know what exactly can be done but I do know blogs like yours help reaching people’s hearts. That is where all change begins.

I’m hoping that repetitive exposure to these concepts eventually help people realize that “more of the same” will likely lead to “more of the same.” From what I see, people are simply tired, frustrated and often clueless. My topics typically require awareness and a willingness to overcome a learning curve. It’s not easy to get people to comply when immediate gratification isn’t part of the equation.

Another post which points out the errors of societies ways…I say that because increasingly I see the way society and schools are herding people yes like sheep and not many seem to realise this …They are being nannied and cosseted until they realise and often too late that they could have had an impact on their impending demise…Too late buddy you should have woken up and smelled the coffee…But we keep plugging away, don’t we? If only one person listens to us then we have achieved something don’t you think? I admire your tenacity and staying power 🙂

Some term it “tenacity” others “senility.” 😀 I know this is my PURPOSE and regardless of the frustration that comes with the “territory” I will continue to remain a POSITIVE thorn in the side of people residing on the fence of CHANGE!

Hi Jonathan,
This is very well put, and I completely agree. I used to be the type of person who cared little for her own health, someone who really had no idea the damage she was causing internally with the level of sugary foods and drinks put into her body. It was only in the last few years as I have suffered greatly and what feels like constantly with different aspects of my health, skin problems, food intolerances, digestion issues, all of which I now believe has been brought on by own decade long addiction to sugar. I was searching desperately for a solution in any place I could get it. It is only now after all this time that has truly made me stop and think could I be the cause and could I be the ‘cure.’ Being willing for a change of lifestyle is everything I believe, and in my own personal experience I have completely benefited from changes in diet and alcohol consumption and though my body is still healing and it will still take a great amount of time to do so I finally have the patience to let it. The concept of an instant ‘cure’ can certainly be dangerous if we let it be seen as the only solution. Thank you for the read.

Unfortunately, so many people need to experience the “PAIN” caused by unhealthy prolonged habits before they consider transforming their lives. Interestingly, PLEASURE is the other motivator in life that causes people to alter behavior. Why so many choose PAIN over PLEASURE continues to confuse me.
Thank you for sharing your story. Many people will likely relate to your story and consider modifying their destructive patterns as a result of your experiences. Thank you so much for being part of the SOLUTION I try to share with the world. 🙂
