SHOULD IT BE DEFINED “UNINTENTIONAL CHILD ABUSE?”

Unhealthy-Habitscropped400Whether we choose to have children or it is simply the result of an intimate interlude, society must create boundaries to protect children unable to protect themselves. We acknowledge these responsibilities when we see the physical harm children suffer. Broken bones, serious bruises indicating possible internal bleeding, cigarette burns, etc… are criminal acts we witness adults and parents inflicting on children. We expect social services or other state agencies to step in and remove these children from these environments that threaten their lives.

What about when parents support lifestyle choices predisposing their children to self inflicted diseases such as childhood obesity and type 2 diabetes? Should we expect social services to intervene in order to save these children’s lives?

Where do we draw the “RED LINE” separating  parental rights from child neglect? If society was to impose lifestyle “rules” onto parents, emotions would run high and resistance strong. It wouldn’t matter that a child’s best interest was at heart.

“WHO DOES “SOCIETY” THINK IT IS TELLING ME HOW TO RAISE MY CHILDREN?”

Interestingly, these same parents have no difficulty COMPLYING with rules and state laws imposed upon them when defiance becomes too inconvenient. Parents will consent to vaccinating their children without regard to adverse reactions reported by the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) (including permanent brain damage and death,) yet will not accept responsibility for making certain their children’s essential needs including proper nutrition, proper exercise, proper sleep, proper hydration and proper stress reduction are met.

If children are permitted by their parents to live a lifestyle that leads to obesity, type 2 diabetes and heart disease aren’t we accepting NEGLIGENCE as acceptable parental behavior?

CHANGING THE RULES:

If the state can mandate health procedures, why shouldn’t these procedures include essential lifestyle behaviors. Just because exercise, eating healthy, drinking water, achieving adequate sleep and learning to release stress in a healthy manner doesn’t generate revenue, doesn’t make these lifestyle requirements any less important to the quality of a child’s health than the vaccine mandate. In fact, these lifestyle requirements will save more children’s lives offering better chances for healthy living than ANY medical procedure.

If parents are unaware their unintentional neglectful choices are negatively impacting their children’s lives, it is society’s responsibility to:

  1. point it out

  2. offer educational assistance (free if necessary) to reverse this trend

Our current approaches to childhood diseases are FAILING. Pills and injections will never replace lifestyle habits children need to be raised with and reinforced at HOMERECREATIONAL VENUESRELIGIOUS INSTITUTIONSDOCTOR OFFICES and SCHOOLS.

Life is difficult enough for the average adult. We compound these difficulties when children are added to the equation.  We must help parents better understand their children’s health needs to alter the path these children currently face. Looking the other way makes us (SOCIETY) just as neglectful. A society thrives when it supports its members. This is a SOLUTION that chooses to offer ASSISTANCE, rather than DEMONIZE any segment participating in this neglectful behavior.

A CALL TO ACTION:

I need your help. I am respectfully requesting you to call your congressman or representative responsible for legislation in your country. Ask what specific actions they’re taking to reduce childhood diseases including Obesity, Type 2 Diabetes, Autism, Attention Deficit Disorder (A.D.D.) and cancer by improving access to better LIFESTYLE CHOICES? We must awaken the minds of these elected officials and get them to recognize that improved childhood health outcomes is the result of LIFESTYLE changes and NOT simply more pharmaceutical intervention.  After you speak with them, briefly write their response in the comment section of this post. We need to better understand how our legislators are working toward implementing better solutions. You might be surprised to discover this topic isn’t even on their “radar!”

Although I appreciate your willingness to “LIKE” this post, ACTION is required to make change possible.

YOU SEE, CHILDREN WILL NEVER RESPOND THIS WAY:

WON’T YOU PLEASE HELP BY PARTICIPATING AND SHARE THIS MESSAGE WITH OTHERS SO THEY TOO CAN CONTACT THEIR GOV’T. REPRESENTATIVES AND BEGIN THE PROCESS OF POSITIVE CHANGE?

WE CLAIM WE WANT A BETTER FUTURE FOR OUR CHILDREN! I’M ASKING FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE TO HELP MAKE THIS POSSIBLE!

  1. I will be interested to read any comments you get on this….If I lived in the US I would certainly ask the question..I do remember years ago asking a question of a politician when they were door knocking to garner support for the forthcoming elections… He ended up giving me his card..as he couldn’t or wouldn’t give me a straight answer when I questioned his response…I am guessing you are correct and that it isn’t on their radar 🙂

    1. Politicians have a tendency to be more concerned with statements that get them re-elected than ACTIONS that create a better quality of life for people to experience.

I love this post. Here in morocco no one asks Drs anything and Drs are disgustingly rude they see questions that we have the right to ask in the UK as a challenge to their intelligence it was a big shift for me when I was at the Dr and asked normal questions and scoffed and scowled at by Drs. Parents and general people alike need to use their own brain to educate themself to what they eat and use. Not just be sheep

    1. Your attitude is one that supports independent thinking. This is important to discovering better “TRUTHS” in life (and health.) The best doctors seek patients willing to ask questions. These patients become ACTIVE participants and achieve better health outcomes. Doctors that scold this kind of participation often have security issues of their own. Walk away from any doctor unwilling to take your questions seriously. They may not have all the answers, but they should be willing to search for them to satisfy your needs as well as their needs.

      Be well, my friend!
