HUMANS AREN’T THE ONLY ONES THAT DRAG ON GYM DAYS!

This is my beagle, TUCKER. He is my walking exercise partner 7 days/week. As you can tell by the picture, humans are not the only species that display evidence of lethargy when the “GYM” WORD is mentioned!

  1. Omg, so cute. Dogs are the best and I am sure he makes a great exercise partner. Did a kettle bell workout with a friend of mine today. It was great.

    1. Thank you Pam. I see you have a workout partner as well. Having someone to exercise with ads another level of accountability making it easier to commit to. Also makes it more fun! Hope you have a great weekend.

    1. Have to throw some humor in every now and then. Tucker is a wonderfully comical dog and has a gentle disposition. I rescued him from an organization called, “Recycled Pets” in South Carolina.

      1. He has a cute face. We joke and say my mother always gets “high end second time around dogs.” She always seem to find pure-bred dogs that other people don’t want anymore. The bright side is they come already trained. Her current dog is perfect! Enjoy! 🐩🐶

        1. I fell in love with the first beagle I found at 9:30pm driving home from work years ago. He was between 7-10 years old when I found him. I brought him to my clinic every day. I had him for 8 years. It was heart breaking having to euthanize him so it took me a year before I was willing to find another dog. When I saw Tucker’s face, I was sold IMMEDIATELY. My wife… not so much. She has come around and really enjoys him as well.

          1. Pets are so therapeutic. They are less emotionally complex. You could do a whole post on that!😉

            1. They don’t possess the emotional defensive baggage so many people accumulate over time. Their point of view doesn’t have to be accepted as the “right” point of view.
You’re right, an entire post could be written on the therapeutic contributions of our pets!

              1. Pets can be so therapeutic. I have seen many patients with PTSD who have them and they find them very helpful. There are even dogs for deaf people who know sign language.

                1. Animals are used in jails as well to help inmates deal with emotions. Their value exceeds tangible understanding. They are simply another gift this planet possesses if we choose to accept them in this manner.

    1. I guess we can say Tucker was tuckered out! He has two speeds; full steam ahead and …not so much! Quite the character. 🙂

  4. Oh, Tucker, I feel your pain buddy. On days like today (rainy and cold in NEPA), it’s hard to be motivated to move beyond the chair.

He is so cute, Doc! Soooo cute!

    1. I’m not convinced it was a unilateral directional rescuing. He is willing to listen to many of my concerns about people’s health and well being issues and never walks away until he’s sure I’ve expressed all I needed to!

  6. Tucker is a cutie – even if he may sometimes discourage the exercise portion of the day!

    1. He is a really good little boy even though he can be quite stubborn. It is pretty funny when you rub his stomach and he moans with each breath. I have to record it one day.

      1. Well, he is a beagle – stubborn sort of goes with the territory! And, please, please record that – it sounds hilarious!

            1. I tried placing the “Tucker moaning” video on your facebook page (Travels with Choppy,) but am not sure you received it. If you didn’t send me a friend request (Jonathan Colter) and I will post it to my wall.

              2. I just watched it – turns out it is quiet enough where I am to hear it. It is hilarious!

  7. Tucker is adorable! My pups are only 2 years old so they always want to go walking. They get so excited that they run around crazy and I have to play “catch” to put the male’s harness on. As soon as he has his on, he goes and waits by the gate and then I can put the female’s harness on easily. They always have to wrestle and run before we get started…a little workout before the workout. Ha…

    1. These “creatures” truly add such quality to our lives. I’ll bet it’s fun to have those two to “tango” with! 🙂
