After Writing 194 Articles Our Health Problems Only Continue To Worsen

shutterstock204503749I just realized that I’ve published 194 articles on various health care topics over the last year. I have spent many hours critically evaluating the content and the delivery of each and every message. The information is crucial for so many people living lifestyles that deprive themselves good health and the chance to experience real happiness. Why does it seem like those individuals with the greatest needs are the least willing to participate to improve the quality of their lives? We point our fingers and blame the pharmaceutical companies, the doctors and their rushed office visits, the cost of health care, the cost of good nutrition, our limited time to provide for our own health care needs, and the list goes on…..

1541558Pointing our fingers and blaming the world gives us permission to withdraw from participating in improving our lives. It helps us justify the phrase, “WHY BOTHER?” You see, most people do not really believe they’re unhealthy. In fact, most people believe the exact opposite. Until the day that symptoms begin to appear affecting their ability to live a “normal life” they truly believe their health is “just fine!”

MOST PEOPLE’S HEALTH IS “NOT JUST FINE!”

MOST PEOPLE ARE TIME BOMBS WITH A LIT FUSE. WHILE IT BURNS EVERYTHING SEEMS “FINE.”

I have spent over 779 hours writing 194 articles explaining the reality of health and disease without creating a “dent” in the average person’s attitude. I appreciate the kind words from everyone that recognizes my intent, but health does not improve if acknowledgement is not followed by action. Action, unfortunately, is not taken until SYMPTOMS are experienced. This is a vicious cycle destroying the vitality of our society. I am not willing to continue spending the time and heart ache (in vain) watching our world participate in destroying its health and destroying opportunities in life that healthy lives can pursue and accomplish.

I AM RESPECTFULLY REQUESTING A CHANGE IN ATTITUDE AND PRIORITIES.

What does it take to make the world see that physicians are NOT “MECHANICS”(disease care “repair men”) but rather HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS seeking to ASSIST their patients to achieve and maintain optimal health?

What does it take to convince each and every person that good health is UNACHIEVABLE and UNMAINTAINABLE without active participation on a regular basis?

What does it take to get each of you to care about yourselves, AND your friends, AND your families? Am I expecting too much asking you to care about yourself (at least) as much as I care about you?

How do I create purpose in my own mind to write article #195? I know how difficult it is to UNDO a lifetime of missteps. Honestly speaking, however, it is tiring to listen to people complain about their poor health when FREE ASSISTANCE and REAL SOLUTIONS are available. Some of you may argue you never asked for my help. You’re absolutely right. Does this mean help should only be offered when asked for? If we see people doing harm to themselves, should we stand by watching to see if help is asked for before they die? I can accept a person’s choice to live a self destructive lifestyle as long as I know they truly understand the pain, disease and suffering they will likely experience. It is those that don’t understand and those in self denial that my heart breaks for.

decisions_midI have reached a point on this journey where I need your help. This blog site needs to do more than create awareness. It needs to impact lives by providing direction, motivation, encouragement and a “safe zone” for people to honestly share factors impeding their progress. I need you, THE READER, to participate and share your secrets of SUCCESS as well as events that have NEGATIVELY IMPACTED YOUR PROGRESS. The only way this blog site will change lives is with YOUR HELP. I am, therefore, placing the onus on YOU to share this blog site with friends, family and co-workers that you care about to create participation in a process that WILL LEAD TO POSITIVE OUTCOMES. If I can’t generate excitement by showing you how YOU CAN REVERSE THE TREND of depression, obesity, cardiac disease, diabetes, cancer, etc… with the SUPPORT of fellow bloggers sharing these same issues, I’m not sure this blog site will have any real purpose. Identifying problems without creating meaningful solutions (I feel) is wasting YOUR TIME! I value your time, your health and your happiness more than you probably realize.

I will publish this post multiple times to see if people are serious about wanting to discover opportunities for living healthier, happier lives. I ask for your support by sharing this (ON ALL OF YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA SITES INCLUDING WORDPRESS) and participating in this process if you are one of those people needing and wanting to improve the quality of your life. This post needs to go viral to create enough awareness to make a difference.

The financial investment I seek from you is $0.00

The potential value I offer to improving your health and well being and the health and well being of others is PRICELESS!

I leave it all up to YOU, THE READER, to decide.

Wishing all of you only the best that life has to offer.

Dr. Jonathan N. Colter

  1. I ate a sweet potato without butter or salt and a raw pepper today for lunch, in part because of reading your blog and enjoying a writing relationship with you. That is way better than the chicken parm sub and french fries I used to choke down at lunch!

Also, its scary to leave the world of PCPs and health clinics, who offer prescription drugs and shuffle you off to do the same thing tomorrow you did today. It’s scary to have to figure all this out for one’s self, because let’s face it, its not easy finding someone you can trust to guide you in areas you totally don’t understand. You have become one of those people for me, and I appreciate it.

So thankful for your posts, and more so for your interactions and counsel. I am eating differently, and more importantly, processing concepts about health differently because you’re here, sharing, offering, and convincing me that I actually can take control of some of this stuff, myself. Would never have believed that four years ago! Sharing your post on my blog tomorrow. Thanks!

    1. It is wonderful to know you view your health, life and happiness from a new perspective. If I have been any small part of this, I am humbled by your words.
As I have stated in comments to other readers, this mission extends way beyond the readers on wordpress. 41 MILLION children under the age of 5 (worldwide) are either overweight or obese. These are children unable to make conscious decisions for themselves about their choices in life. They rely on parents unwilling or unable to provide the guidance necessary to live a healthy life. These children become “damaged physically and mentally” as a result. This is the “BIG PICTURE” I’m aiming to address. This is why I need people’s exposure. It is not for me. I’ll be more than happy to call myself Dr. Anonymous. I just don’t understand how people can turn a blind eye to this self imposed epidemic.

  2. I will take a moment to give you some insight as to why I think, at least partially, you are not getting the feeling that you are helping people as much as you would like. The information you provide is very clear, concise, and (usually) easy for the layman to understand. You have a passion for what you do, and want to enlighten us, the readers, on how and why we may have been misled for years on what the true definition of “health care” versus “disease care” really is. You do all of this without trying to sell anything or for that matter, make any money at all for what you do. If you look at just the weight loss business as an example, there may be some clarity. XYZ Weight Loss Center makes a profit regardless of whether their clients succeed. They are in business to turn a profit. I’m certain they would prefer to have their clients succeed, but in the end they made their money by offering their services. That is their reward: MONETARY PROFIT! You bring your passion for wellness and desire to educate to the table. YOUR return on investment would be success stories, no matter if baby steps are made or huge triumphs. You do not have a “back up” for satisfaction like XYZ Weight Loss. They can at least say “Well, we only had 3% of our clients meet their goals this month, but boy did we ever surpass our sales goals in getting new clients!!” That is enough to keep them happy. You, on the other hand, have a streamlined purpose with one goal: to help people. Your satisfaction is derived only from knowing you are making a difference. Please understand that enlightenment comes before change. Sometimes, something needs to be said 10 different ways to get one to have that “Aha” moment. I know this has been true for me. I would love to see more success stories as well. Whether you hear firsthand through your readers about their success (or not), I can assure you there are readers who, as an example, will go to their next Dr. visit and hear Dr. Colter in their head and just maybe….they won’t be so quick to follow “doctors orders” and get their prescription filled. That little voice will prompt them to ask “instead of starting with this, is there ANYTHING I can do for myself that may make it possible to be off these meds?” You may never hear these stories, but know that you were the catalyst by creating awareness. Now maybe some of your readers will share these small victories instead of thinking they had to have a monumental triumph to warrant a success story.

    1. Thank you for taking your time and providing such an emotionally impacting response. I want to make certain that readers understand the focus is NOT ON ME. Certainly, I would like to help impact the quality of lives by guiding people through a PROCESS that teaches them to gain self confidence and self empowerment. GOOD health is one of the most important aspects in life necessary to accomplish any tasks desired. Our current approach to understanding this and believing this BROKEN and needs to be fixed! I need people to jump on my bandwagon to be able to attempt to change the current denial that exists. If I can’t get readers to push a “reblog” button, I have failed to convey the seriousness of this issue.
Thank you again for taking the time and offering such a beautiful response. It means more to me than you realize.

  4. You should have included a mirror for all of the finger pointers. You are getting through to some of us. I know I have changed my eating habits. I have added walking and light exercise to my daily regiment. And I understand that it is up to me to find balance and to question doctors when they reach for their trusty prescription pad.

    1. Thank you for being supportive. The problem is my mission is not limited to the readership on wordpress. I will copy part of my comment to Karen to add clarity.
As a doctor, their is a void when solutions to health care problems are clearly visible and “left on the table in a box” unopened. Like I stated, if it was a conscious decision to follow a lifestyle increasing the chances for pain, disease and early death, I would “feel bad” but completely accept a person’s right to make this personal choice. For me the difficulty is accepting the level of sub standard parenting as it applies to the child’s physical health (and ultimately mental health) and the lack of responsibility our society plays by turning an eye away from this atrocity. 41 MILLION children under the age of 5 (worldwide) that are overweight or obese. I can’t comprehend how this can be tolerated.
It is these people’s lives (as well as the readers on wordpress) I wish to impact. It is these children without knowledge, experience or guidance. This is why I need the message to reach people inside and outside of wordpress. The challenge is difficult especially if people’s attitudes remain “indifferent” to this epidemic.

Family physicians are not what they used to be.
They have forgotten the oath they took.
And have chose to take kickbacks from drug companies. Kickbacks such a vacations to some great places.
      But…what about the patient?
From what I have seen, they seem to think kids or older people need antidepressants or antipsychotics.
I have seen this for myself and have talked to many people.
Your doctor is really not your friend. ( maybe some in rare instances anymore. Sure he may can find a problem. But they do like writing prescriptions.
WHO,CDC,FDA,USDA and others…are not your friend.
But, they are all in bed with each other. I don’t care if I upset them, but truth is truth.
The faster people can figure that out, the better off they will be. That…is a FACT.
Don’t accept any words for it at face value. Research it if you really want to know.
But is it getting harder to actually know who to believe anymore.
Maybe by looking up who is funding them And how much these places make for starters.

      1. I can understand the frustration in your writing as well as the anger at big industry and regulatory agencies. I agree with you about the facts and “truths” that are revealed to the public. There are, however, many fine doctors with good intentions and a willingness to LISTEN and understand their patient’s needs. It can sometimes be difficult to find them, but they certainly exist.

Health care is in a transitional state. Things are likely to get worse before they get better. There are enough caring physicians willing to challenge conventional ideas and approaches to health. This will ultimately move the system in a better direction.

I write a blog because I want to share about my journey and my experiences, I don’t however have any control who takes that information and uses it. Write on your blog because you love it, because you want to share this important information and because you know about health. You may not know the difference you are making but that is living in the present, not knowing the future and accepting people as they are. Keep writing! 🙂

  10. The frustration in your words is tangible! But I do believe you are making a difference. I wish there were more health providers who were as passionate about preventative medicine as you.

As you know from reading my blog “The Heart Source”, I did all the right things and took care of my health for many years but I still needed heart surgery. Everybody was stunned because I was an atypical heart patient and “the healthiest person” they knew.

So, I share your frustration, I really do because when I see smokers, obese people, lifestyle-induced diabetics, lazy people who eat junk food and never exercise, etc., I wonder:
Why don’t THEY need heart surgery? Why did I have it? It feels SO UNFAIR.

Biology sucks. My genetics suck. Life sucks (sometimes)….

At least I had no regrets before the surgery. I didn’t have to ask myself “What could I have done better?”, “I wish I hadn’t smoked”, “I wish I’d listened to medical advice”, “I wish I had eaten better and done exercise”…..

I knew there was absolutely nothing more I could’ve done to reduce my risk. It was simply my fate and I have to accept it.

But better than that is knowing my heart event happened later in my life, I was an easier patient for my surgeon to work on, I had a speedier recovery and had no need to change my habits afterwards! All because I take care of my own health.

It’s refreshing and motivating, this thing you do. Please keep it up!

    1. As you state, you took responsibility for your health and likely achieved a better outcome with a better long term prognosis than many who abuse their health.
This post was meant to reach those who don’t have resources, don’t know what to do, don’t have the maturity to make decisions for themselves and are left to fend on their own. Over 41 MILLION children worldwide are overweight or obese. We need programs established as part of a school curriculum. We need communities to share outdoor gardening and cooking classes to teach children about providing themselves with necessary healthy options including the need to become self sufficient.
The cost of health care in the U.S. is a prime cause of people declaring bankruptcy. Our priorities have become askew. We have become a society that lives off desires and wants and have proven the willingness to go as far as trampling people to DEATH to buy large screen TELEVISIONS at reduced prices (during holiday seasons.)
All I want to do is help people focus on the realities in life. I understand self preservation, but it does not have to be at another person’s expense. We can work together and produce more (physically and emotionally) to help greater numbers of people. Life is wonderful; life is burdensome. I am trying to help people understand a need for greater BALANCE and PURPOSE in life. I promise the “ME” can be satisfied in the process of improving “US.”
Wordpress reaches people worldwide. I need our community (if they agree with my message) to get involved in spreading this message. I need to prove that one person truly can make an impact on this world and will GLADLY call myself “Dr. ANONYMOUS.” This message is not about me or my blog site.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this post and truly respond from the heart. From my perspective, this “new heart of yours” has magically retained all the best emotional parts from the “old one.” Let it grow and develop and provide you the ability to grow and develop into the person you choose to become.

    1. Thank you Tricia, your support and insight is always welcomed.
Believe it or not, I wrote this post without forethought of its impact on me. I wrote it attempting to convey an urgency to help others. Childhood obesity was the very first thought that came to mind. Children are literally VICTIMS of their environment. The World Health Organization now has the number at 41 MILLION worldwide for children (obese and overweight) UNDER 5 YEARS OF AGE. Where are the Solutions coming from? Where is the cry for help? We can’t feed the poor because of financial restraints but we can raise how much money campaigning to become President?
I was hoping that wordpress would be a good venue to gain access to those seeking help. The blog site is NOT ABOUT ME; it is about THE READER and a chance to improve one aspect of their life and the lives of those they care about; their HEALTH! It is not given the relevance needed resulting in physical, emotional and financial devastation in many cases. I continue to believe one person can make a significant impact on this unnecessary tragic outcome. I simply need to find the small crevice to separate to expose the bigger picture to the world. I hope wordpress becomes a more successful tool in this process. If readers are unable to click the reblog button, than it becomes my fault for lacking the skill to explain how vital this undertaking is.

    1. Thank you for your kind expression and willingness to participate in spreading important messages.
Although wordpress reaches people throughout the world it doesn’t seem the world is ready to face the serious health challenges in front of them. Naturally people want to be healthy, but are not raised with the education and knowledge of what it takes to be healthy. This lack of awareness will continue to destroy lives physically, emotionally and financially.
As you know there are over 41 MILLION children that are overweight or obese. A few hundred people acknowledging my articles with “likes” and/or comments each day is not going to help stop the progression these poor CHILDREN; these poor VICTIMS face!
I hope people do not misunderstand the purpose of this post. I am not concerned about the number of people viewing my blog site; I am concerned with reaching the people desperately searching for help(many without means and often forgotten about.) This is why I asked for people to pass this message forward to their contacts. I will only be able to find those searching for help if millions of people become aware someone is willing to offer free assistance.
I’m certain most people did not take the time to read the WHOLE posting. I understand that time is limited and people wish to read multiple articles from multiple sites. If they did read it, all they would have had to do was push the “reblog” button. Unless they were born without a heart, the message is clearly worth “pushing a button.”
I place the blame on me. I expect people to care more about themselves and others. I am “imposing” my values (about helping those who can’t help themselves) on other people and I do not have the right to do so. I will re-post my blog (as I stated I would) several more times to see if people begin to take it a little more seriously. If they do, wonderful. If they don’t I will move on to other venues to address this important topic. I will not, however, continue to walk forward into a “WALL” and magically expect better results. Childhood obesity and general awareness about lifestyle changes needed for healthy outcomes must gain greater attention.

In my opinion, 10% or less of the people you reach and help will let you know how integral your influence is.

Others are just not into communicating, too busy or are on the “fringe” of a healthy lifestyle and are making baby steps they view as unimportant at the time and will only realize the huge impact those baby steps have upon full success.

It honestly would be a great world if every person who is inspired by another gave back words of gratitude. But, much like parents, we teachers have to often look for signs instead of words. It is only until a student becomes a teacher that they truly understand what teaching is about.

Reblogged your post. Look forward to reading many more!

    1. I’m certain your comment is quite accurate. As a caring physician with a persistent yet compassionate personality, I have rarely accepted “typical.” I do not say this in a judgemental way, but rather as a person willing to pursue my passion for health and wellness (for other people) well beyond the “expected limits.” The messages I attempt to share are intended to demonstrate REALISTIC SOLUTIONS exist for various health concerns. These solutions commonly provide approaches that often conflict with our traditional medical philosophies. I do not tell my audience what is “right and wrong.” I consider it my “job” to offer unbiased information (much of which many people have never seen) so they can make better informed decisions.
I would also like to thank you for your willingness to re-blog the post.

My concern is for the many “Kats” in the world unaware that information and compassion is available to help guide them to improving the quality of their lives. I also hope to utilize the experience (both positive and negative) of the readers (in their comments) to help each other by providing “real life solutions” in addition to the “educational guidance” I offer. I would love to see readers reach out to people they care about and share my information and approach to health, wellness and balanced living. I want them to be aware that their families, friends and co-workers can reach out to me without any strings attached.
As a physician my practice grew as a result of referrals. It wasn’t the “almighty dollar” that made this exciting; it was the confidence and trust I developed with my patients and the joy I experienced watching them improve the quality of their lives. This is the goal of my blog site; to reach those needing guidance and show them a better path is achievable in life.

  16. Ever since my diagnosis and seeing the bewildered looks in my doctors faces because the university told them to skip the section covering my syndrome because they would never have a case like it.

Ever since the first time a physician looked my right in the face, shrugged and said he didn’t know how to help me.

Ever since the first time I saw my prolapsing heart-valve on the monitor, I realized my health fell in my own hands.

Physicians are a blessing on this earth but they are only mere mortals that can only work with the knowledge and instruments they are given.

Now when going to my doctor, I do so armed with knowledge of my own. He is there to help me and the more I help him to help me, the easier and more tolerable my life becomes. Seeking help from a doctor is but one part of the equation. The patient has to do their part to complete the treatment.

There is no medication that can reverse the damage to the blueprints of my body but I can shore up the walls by being informed and staying vigilant.

Simple things like knowing that sugar aggravates inflammation and ginger combats it. Something everyone with a chronic inflammatory condition should know and watch out for.

There isn’t much I can do in terms of exercise as every movement involves a joint that can become hyper extended and inflamed.
Yet, it doesn’t mean I should not be doing physical activities but I have to be ware my limits and for that I have my family to remind me not to move furniture or carry heavy bags of groceries.

The human condition entire is a syndrome and I wish people would see what those with chronic illnesses see … it’s not the doctors job to keep you healthy, it is yours.

    1. Very well said. People with chronic health issues usually deal with their health in one of two ways:
      1. They blame the world and avoid dealing with it.
      2. They become involved in learning about health and disease to increase their options and maximize the quality of life.
I congratulate you for falling into the second category. Good doctors appreciate when patients are willing to participate in the decision making process. Bad doctors feel their authority is being challenged and will typically refer these patients to other doctors.

Wishing you happiness and success on the road of discovery and new future options!

  18. Reblogged this on The worlds biggest fridge magnet and commented:
Hi Guys and thanks for tuning in to an impromptu post here on Planet Magnet.

I start this week early by helping out a fellow blogger in his mission to get the message across that we all need to be mindful of the health and welfare of others.

    Last week he posted
“After Writing 194 Articles Our Health Problems Only Continue To Worsen”

This was taken very seriously by many of us and in my own little way I am keen to help and hoping that a re-blog on my site will increase the size of the audience we want to get the message out to.

So here we go, written by Jonathan or JNCTHEDC over at “All About Healthy Choices” I give you a very important post and I ask you ALL to follow the link and read the post for yourselves as it is of much importance that we ALL digest the message and understand the issues that the world faces.

Thank you in advance for your help in this and I shall be back as ever with a tasty recipe the next time you visit…

    ‘Till tomorrow,

    Stay out of the fridge….

    1. Thank you Cameron for helping pass along a message that affects Millions of Lives. If one person re-blogs an article, does it really make a difference? The answer is unquestionably YES!! Change has to start from somewhere and your willingness to participate makes all the difference in the world. The human body starts from just 1 cell and look what eventually happens; it grows into a network of trillions of cells. So too shall our message of hope, understanding and the willingness for the world to listen and participate in achieving a healthier and happier future. Thank you for all your help.

      1. My pleasure Doc and yes, you are right from an acorn does a mighty oak grow. I have been scooped up by the childhood obesity issue and am determined to do my best for it so lets spread the word as much as we can….

        1. Patience and persistence; the two magic words that help create change. I remember in the movie, “Field of Dreams” the voice whispering, “if you build it, they will come.” I believe creating awareness from multiple perspectives and reinforcing the message over and over again, will “BUILD” the message to the point that “they will come.”

  21. Thats powerful ..and I agree with you but sometimes people are not in denial but in a vicious circle ..finding it incredibly hard to break out of. Ive been introduced to your blog through https://worldsbiggestfridgemagnet.com and have read many of your articles. Somewhere you said you need from the doctor the diagnosis and then what caused it to get to the root of the problem. I have an auto immune disease that took 15 years to diagnose, cause unknown, then as many years later to get an effective treatment. I don’t blame anyone for that, its taken that long for research and progress in medicine to reach the point I am at now. During the years when I had to spend weeks on end in bed with infections as a result and pain, I functioned ..just. But when you just function exercise went out of the window and the pounds crept on. Of course I blame me for that. I don’t want, but I am on some very strong treatments that could effect my liver etc but the beauty is that it has enabled me to break that cycle and start walking, eating well, Ive lost 30lbs now. My consultant said last week we may try and stop the treatment in 6 months time. I know that the treatment will stop partly because my body is in a more healthy place now and able to fight for itself. I am not sure that people are in denial but need the tools to help them break out of their particular self destructive cycle. Keep the good work up.

    1. First I would like to congratulate you on recognizing the importance of taking responsibility and WORKING WITH DOCTORS rather than simply relying on them. I’m certain you have been through a great deal, but also believe this journey has made you a stronger person and better able to care for your personal needs. I agree with you completely about “needing the tools to break out of self destructive patterns. Tools, however, only become useful when motivation provides the impetus to seek them and use them.
I’m also glad to see you have become able to participate in lifestyle activities that have helped you lose 30 pounds. Remember, the added weight was the RESPONSE to an underlying problem; NOT the problem itself. Live a (REALISTIC) healthy lifestyle and the body will restore itself to a healthy weight.
Good luck on remaining focused and continuing on this new path you follow. I look forward to hearing about your progress. If you should have any questions along the way, feel free to ask anytime.
I’m so glad I had a chance to meet you through our writing.
      Stay healthy and happy.

  22. I didn’t want to just re-blog this post :). I think you write some fantastic posts and wanted people to get a feel of some of my favourites so it’s taken me a bit longer to get the word out. The timing of your post really spoke to me because I do take your words to heart but there’s often a disconnect between intention and action. Hence my recent bout of illness.
Having you pop up daily has had the effect of making be a bit better to myself on a daily basis. Your words have been like a wave on a rocky shore, slowly eroding my bad habits. It’s the consistency that I’ve enjoyed. I know it feels like you’re saying the same thing and people lik e me aren’t listening but I am, I just need to hear you remind me to drink water, to be kind to myself, to eat well.

I could think of no better way to thank you than to list the posts that I recall having an immediate and proper effect on me the moment I read them:

    1. I edited your comment the way you wanted that first line to read. Thank you for expressing yourself and sharing your feelings. I can’t tell you how much it means to me. I am sure with all you have posted, you are on the path in life you were meant to follow. This doesn’t mean there won’t be hurdles along the way, but the journey will be worth the adventure. Don’t get so stressed and remember to drink one more glass of water! 😀
Thank you again for adding value to my life.

I have a lot of respect for Tricia, so any recommendation from her goes such a long way.

Even reading your responses to the comments on this one article you give such genuine, individual, caring responses. I can see why Tricia holds you in such high esteem. An honour to follow.

I welcome you to my site and look forward to future dialogue. I have found that reader’s comments have as much (if not greater impact) than the articles I write. I want the world to realize they have a place to visit with concerns or questions about health problems as well as solutions. Each person is different and has unique needs. Helping people overcome health imbalances by creating a greater sense of responsibility and self empowerment has improved the quality of countless lives.

  27. You may feel like you aren’t making a difference, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t! Weston A Price—a dentist from the 1920s who threw a spotlight on poor American diets and the need to return to native traditional foods—probably felt like he made no impact. And yet, almost 90 years later, his research is impacting the lives of thousands of people who reject the Standard American Diet and are leading vibrant lives.

His last words were, “You teach, you teach, you teach.”

You never know what the lasting impact of your work will be.

  28. Dr Jonathan, I just stumbled across you last night while watching an infomercial about your testimonial of using the Total Gym. I am now very inspired about what I read. I have taken notes and again started a journal to better my eating habits. Pls don’t feel that your words are in vain. If you save even one person from diabetes, heart attack , stroke, etc. that is a Blessing. We need you. I need you now that I have found you.
